Chart your own course to a successful college experience!
SLS 2206: Chart Your Course is a 1-credit-hour course created to help first-year students successfully transition to Florida State University. This is part of Engage 100, FSU’s required first-year seminar program.
What's Engage 100?
Engage 100 is an immersive program unique to Florida State University. These courses have been designed to help you shape your success and flourish in your first year. Through Engage 100, you will meet other new students, connect with a peer mentor, explore your passions, and discover all that university life offers.

Course Curriculum
This course invites first-year students to experience the many opportunities Florida State University has to offer and chart their own course to a successful college experience. Students will explore their own identities and values, engage with campus resources, and apply college success strategies to effectively navigate their transition to FSU.

- Professionalism
- Academic Resources
- Health, Wellness, and Safety

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Describe the unique history, traditions, and values of Florida State University.
- Identify appropriate campus resources and involvement opportunities to aid in their transition to college.
- Implement effective time management and study strategies in order to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Create their own curricular and co-curricular collegiate success plan.
What is a Peer Navigator?
Peer Navigators are student leaders who teach Chart Your Course and serve as a mentor and guide for their students. If you are interested in mentoring new FSU students, developing your leadership skills, and gaining practical teaching experience, then the Peer Navigator role is a great opportunity for you!
