Prepare for Orientation
These items must be completed prior to your New Nole Orientation session to ensure the completion of the orientation requirement, as well as your class registration.
Review Application Status Check
Log into the Application Status Check to review your application/admission decision status, verify your major, confirm your residency status, and verify completion of the Immunization and Insurance requirements.
You should check your status once a week to see what has changed or is outstanding:
- Pay your Admissions Deposit by the deadline (summer and fall freshman admits only).
- Use Admissions Online Status Check frequently to verify your residency status, major, health immunization and insurance compliance, and more.
- Complete the required steps to declare Florida Residency, if applicable.
Complete Immunization Requirement
Please note: If you do not submit your immunization records ahead of your New Nole Orientation session, this hold on your account will prevent you from registering for classes. Please allow 2-4 business days for processing due to the high volume of submissions.
All main campus students are required to submit a one-time Immunization Form or request a religious exemption.
After submitting the Immunization Form, you can confirm that the form has been received by checking your status or by contacting Health Compliance Office (University Health Services) at healthcompliance@fsu.edu or 850-644-3608.
For more information regarding FSU's Immunization Requirement, please click here.
Complete Health Insurance Requirement
FSU main campus students are required to have health insurance to register for classes. You must either provide proof of health insurance coverage or enroll in the FSU-sponsored plan.
Click here to enter your health insurance information or purchase the FSU-sponsored plan.
- If you elect to enroll in the FSU-sponsored plan, charges will be assessed to your student account, and the cost of meeting this requirement will be included in your financial aid considerations. To learn more about the mandatory health insurance requirement and the costs associated with the University-sponsored plan, click here. Students registering as less than full time are not required to show proof of health insurance. Contact the Health Compliance Office at healthcompliance@admin.fsu.edu for assistance in clearing the insurance waiver if you will be registering as a part-time student.
- You are required to provide appropriate health insurance coverage via the online verification waiver or arrange to purchase the University-sponsored plan.
Complete Pre-Orientation Modules
Please note: If you do not complete these modules ahead of your New Nole Orientation session, this hold on your account will prevent you from registering for classes.
The Pre-Orientation Modules are your first preview of campus as an officially-admitted FSU student. Make sure to review and complete all the modules.
Complete the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement
Please note: If you do not complete this agreement ahead of your New Nole Orientation session, this hold on your account will prevent you from registering for classes.
The Student Financial Responsibility Agreement ensures that you understand the financial repercussions of enrolling in classes at Florida State University. The agreement outlines the University’s expectations for payment, holds, the employment of collection agencies, contact methods and procedures as well as tax document delivery methods.
Submit FSUCard Application and Photo
To obtain your initial FSUCard, submit your card application and photo online through the FSUCard online photo submission system. Once approved, an email will be sent to your FSU email account with instructions on how to obtain your card.
Your FSUCard will be available for pick up during New Nole Orientation from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM, OR at the FSUCard Center, 9 AM - 5 PM. You will need to physically present your government-issued ID upon pick-up.
TIP: Make sure all your holds are completed! Double-check your myFSU Portal for any outstanding holds.
